Memory Loss Support Group (1984 F,P/L)
This group provides support, encouragement, and information for primary caregivers. Group literature is available. Meets 3rd Thurs., 10:00-11:00 a.m., Adult Day Center, 500 S. Art Bartell Road, Urbana. Call before attending the first meeting.

Minds in Motion (2007 F,P)
This program enhances the mental, physical, and cognitive functioning of older adults including those diagnosed with early memory loss. Activities include “brain fitness” activities (mental exercises, games, memory enhancement), exercises (taiji, dance, strength, and endurance training), relaxation therapies, creative activities (art, writing, music, and storytelling), social activities, and community events. Family members of individuals with early memory loss focus on self-care while creating positive activities for themselves and their family members. Call to verify meeting times. Women's Dementia Support Group (2016 F,L)
This group is a lay person-led support group for women who are spouses and/or caregivers of a family member with dementia. Leadership is shared among those in attendance. Discussions focus on sharing suggestions for caregiving, available resources, and provision of support to one another. Meets on Mondays from 10:30 - 12:00 p.m., Stephens Family YMCA, 2501 Fields South Drive, Champaign, IL.

Macon Memories Memory Cafe (2015 F,P)
This support group is open to caregivers and care-receivers who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's or other form of dementia. This social group offers support, socialization and enrichment activities, including memory games, music, art, and other physical games. Education services are also provided. The group meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 1:00 p.m. at Eagle Ridge of Decatur, 875 W. McKinley, Decatur. (Use lower level back entrance; group meets in the lower-level activity room.)

Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group (2007 F,P)

Telephone Support Group for Caregivers of Veterans with Dementia (2016 A,P)
The VA Illiana Health Care System provides a telephone support group free of charge to anyone who provides care in the home to a Veteran with dementia, or a Veteran who provides care in the home for a family member with dementia. The Veteran must be enrolled in VA, must have a VA primary care physician and a diagnosis of dementia (any type), made by a VA provider. To participate, you must be the person who provides hands-on care to the Veteran. Caregivers will participate in a one hour, once-a-week group telephone call, for six consecutive weeks. The call is toll-free. The group will focus on skill-building in the areas of problem solving and mood management and will provide an opportunity to share with and learn from other group members.
